Smash burger tacos

These are crispy, juicy smash burgers pressed right into a tortilla and cooked until perfectly golden. They’re quick, so flavorful, and always a hit.

Ingredients (makes about 4 tacos)

1 pound ground beef (80/20 works best)
4 small flour tortillas
Salt and pepper
1 cup shredded lettuce
½ cup diced onions or pickles

Sauce
¼ cup mayo
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon pickle juice
1 tablespoon relish

Instructions

In a small bowl, mix together the mayo, ketchup, mustard, and relish. Set aside.

Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions. Place each portion onto a tortilla and press it down into a thin layer, covering most of the surface.

Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.

Place the tortilla down with the beef side touching the pan. Press it down slightly and cook for about 2 to 3 minutes until the beef gets crispy.

Flip the tortilla and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes until the tortilla is golden.

Remove from the pan and add sauce, lettuce, onions, or pickles.

Fold and serve warm.

tips

Press the beef thin so it cooks evenly and gets that crispy edge.

Cook on medium-high heat so you get a good sear.

You can add cheese right after flipping if you want a cheeseburger version.
