Classic CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

A classic for a reason. These cookies are soft in the center, slightly crisp on the edges, and loaded with chocolate chips. Easy to make and always a go-to.

Ingredients (makes about 12 to 16 cookies)

1 cup butter, softened
¾ cup white sugar
¾ cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, mix together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.

Add the eggs and vanilla and mix until well combined.

Add in the flour, baking soda, and salt and mix until a dough forms.

Fold in the chocolate chips.

Scoop the dough onto the baking sheet, spacing the cookies a couple inches apart.

Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, until the edges are golden and the centers still look slightly soft.

Let the cookies cool on the pan for about 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

TIPS

Don’t overbake if you want a soft center. They’ll continue to set as they cool.

You can press a few extra chocolate chips on top right after baking for that bakery-style look.
